Shopify Scale is an education and community business operated by VersaLyze LLC, based in Austin, Texas, United States. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “Shopify Scale” refer to VersaLyze LLC. You can reach us at [email protected].
This policy explains what information we may collect through this website and our community, and how we handle it.
Information we may collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you interact with us, this can include:
- Newsletter email. If you subscribe to the Shopify Scale Brief, we collect the email address you submit. (Email is only stored if a newsletter provider is connected; see “Third-party services”.)
- Support and contact messages. If you email us or open a Discord ticket, we receive the contents of your message and the address or handle you used.
- Discord interactions. Our community runs on Discord. Anything you post there is handled under Discord's own terms and privacy policy.
- Purchase information. Payments are processed by Whop. We may receive order and access details (for example, that a purchase was completed and which plan) but we do not collect or store your full payment-card details.
- Analytics and device data. We use Google Analytics 4 to collect standard, aggregated usage data (pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type), with IP addresses anonymized. See the Cookie Policy for how to opt out.
- Server and security data. Like most websites, our hosting and CDN providers automatically process technical request data such as IP address and user-agent to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
How we use information
We use the information above to: provide and secure the website and community; respond to your questions and support requests; deliver the newsletter if you asked for it; process and confirm purchases through Whop; and understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use Google Analytics 4 cookies to understand aggregate, anonymized usage, and we do not use advertising or marketing cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details and how to opt out.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of third parties, each with their own privacy practices:
- Discord, hosts our community. The homepage also loads Discord's public server widget, which means your browser contacts Discord to display live server data.
- Whop, processes checkout, billing and membership access.
- Hosting & CDN, serve and protect the website and process standard request logs.
- Newsletter & analytics providers, only if and when connected, and named in the Cookie Policy where relevant.
We encourage you to review those companies' policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, to comply with legal obligations, or to resolve disputes. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Support messages are kept as long as reasonably necessary to help you and keep records.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, including serving the site over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
International visitors
We operate from the United States. If you access the site from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our providers operate.
Children
This program is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users who are old enough to use the program but under the legal age to enter contracts should have a parent or legal guardian review and consent to any purchase where required. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
