What each metric means
Fill in whatever you have, the calculator fills in every metric it can and leaves the rest blank. Here's what each one is telling you:
- CPM, spend ÷ impressions × 1,000. What it costs to be seen 1,000 times.
- CTR, clicks ÷ impressions. How compelling the creative and hook are.
- CPC, spend ÷ clicks. What each click costs; driven by CPM and CTR together.
- CPA, spend ÷ purchases. Your cost to acquire one order, compare it to your break-even CPA.
- CVR, purchases ÷ clicks. How well the product page and offer close the click.
- ROAS, revenue ÷ spend. The headline efficiency number; compare it to your break-even ROAS.
- AOV, revenue ÷ purchases. Higher AOV gives you more room to spend on ads.
The two numbers to anchor on are CPA and ROAS, judged against your break-even. A low CTR points at the creative; a good CTR with a low CVR usually points at the store or offer.
